Metro New York/Florida Service General Information

METRO NEW YORK/FLORIDA SERVICE GENERAL INFORMATION Passenger trips will run on a regular schedule to Florida beginning Sunday, October 14, 2018. The final 2018/2019 trip will depart from Florida Wednesday, June 5, 2019. Please see reverse side for schedule. DEPARTURES/DESTINATIONS: Passengers traveling with their vehicles to or from Florida may board or disembark at any of these locations: Southampton & Farmingville, Long Island, New York; Rocky Hill (Hartford), Connecticut*; East Windsor, New Jersey; Fayetteville, NC; Jacksonville (Kingsland, Georgia), Titusville, West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale, Florida on all East Coast trips. West Coast service to or from Tampa (Wesley Chapel), Sarasota and Fort Myers, Florida is available on designated trips. If you are traveling without a vehicle, other pick-up and drop-off locations may be available. Please ask your reservationist. *On select trips.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

Enjoy a 2-day trip on an air-conditioned, lavatory equipped motor coach staffed by two professional drivers and an escort. Pillows are provided for your comfort. Movies and music are available via headsets. The escort will serve light snacks and beverages, and brief rest stops will be taken approximately every three and a half hours. A one hour lunch stop, on your own, is made each day. We provide identification tags which are required on all suitcases. Each passenger may bring two suitcases, not to exceed 50 lbs. each, and one overnight bag, all to be put in the luggage bay. You may also carry a small tote on board. Additional charges will be assessed for overweight bags. It is advisable to carry a sweater while on board the bus. Please advise us in advance if you have any special needs or medical conditions that we should be aware of. Passengers traveling with oxygen need to request the guidelines for traveling and storing tanks. Smoking and Pets are prohibited.

NEW TRAVEL & CAR SHIPMENT POLICY NOTES:

Due to new Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, all car carriers are required to have Electronic Logging Devices (ELD’s) equipped in their trucks. This impacts our car delivery as the carriers will not arrive prior to the motor coach at your destination. Passengers will need to make overnight accommodations upon arrival or make arrangements to get home and back the following day to pick up their vehicles.

ANY ITEMS YOU WILL NEED WITHIN A FEW DAYS OF YOUR ARRIVAL SHOULD EITHER BE SENT AHEAD OR KEPT IN YOUR POSSESSION.

NO MEDICATION SHOULD EVER BE LEFT IN YOUR CAR!

WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR DELAYS CAUSED BY CONDITIONS BEYOND OUR CONTROL AND DO NOT GUARANTEE TO ARRIVE OR DEPART FROM A PARTICULAR POINT AT A SPECIFIC TIME. Cars will be loaded onto commercial car carriers under contract to Hampton Jitney.

We require one set of door, ignition and trunk keys for the carrier who will lock them in the car upon delivery; therefore you MUST have an extra set of keys for car pick-up.

Check-in and delivery time frames are different for “car only’s,” so please consult with our office staff.

Hampton Jitney and the car carriers are insured up to $50,000 per vehicle. Personal property weighing up to 200 pounds may be locked in the trunk of your car. Vehicles with no trunk may use the back cargo area only and no seats may be put down. Personal property is not included in our insurance coverage.

Overloaded cars will be assessed an additional carrying fee at the time of check-in. Any items left in the interior of the car will incur fines starting at $25.

Please read the car shipment contract for additional shipping, insurance and claim information. Neither Hampton Jitney nor the car carriers are responsible for cars once delivered to the agreed destination.

Baggage is subject to a $250.00 per bag maximum liability.

CLAIMS MUST BE CALLED INTO OUR FLORIDA DEPT. WITHIN 24 HOURS OF DELIVERY. ALL CLAIMS ARE SUBJECT TO A $250 DEDUCTIBLE.

CARS MAY HAVE ONLY A QUARTER (1/4) TANK OF GAS OR LESS AT THE TIME OF SHIPPING. A FEE WILL BE CHARGED FOR ADDITIONAL FUEL. Please have your car serviced and checked for leaking fluids before shipment. Alarm systems must be deactivated prior to shipping.

E-ZPasses may operate while your car is on the carrier. Please contact the E-ZPass customer service center to request a “No Read Bag” and/or wrap it well in heavy-duty aluminum foil.

OVERNIGHT HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS:

En Route: Overnight accommodations in Fayetteville, North Carolina are included in your fare as well as a buffet dinner and breakfast. There is no baggage handling available. Please bring an overnight bag you can manage yourself.

Pre/Post Travel: Rooms prior to departure or upon arrival in New York or Florida can be arranged by a Hampton Jitney representative at a corporate rate (availability is not guaranteed).

RESERVATIONS:

Advance reservations are necessary to guarantee travel on the date you desire. Waiting lists will be opened for any dates that sell out. Reservations are to be made via phone and we suggest you make your return reservation during your initial booking.

Payment is due in full at time of booking.

Changes in reservations can be made only if space is available and a surcharge of $25 PER PERSON is applicable to each change. Changes will be subject to cancellation policies noted as you near the departure date.

Requests for specific seats cannot be honored, although we will make every effort to assign seats in the general area of the coach that you desire (front, middle, rear). Seating is assigned on a ‘first-come ~ first-served’ basis so we encourage you to book early.

Seating adjustments are sometimes necessary due to changes and cancellations. You will be advised of any changes.

Trip confirmations are mailed out two months before departure date. Seat assignments and luggage tags are mailed out separately two weeks prior to departure.

REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS:

PASSENGER CANCELLATION POLICY: Refunds for passenger cancellations will be issued for the prepaid amount minus these cancellation charges: More than 30 days before departure = $25 per person. 14-30 days before departure = $50 per person. 5-13 days before departure = $100 per person. Canceling 4 days or less before departure, and no-shows, will result in NO REFUND.

CAR CANCELLATION POLICY: More than 30 days before departure = $25 per vehicle. 14-30 days before departure = $100 per vehicle. 5-13 days before departure, car cancellation fees will start at $350. Canceling 4 days or less before departure, and no-shows, will result in NO REFUND.

Notification of cancelled reservations must be made directly to Hampton Jitney’s Florida Service Department. Phone messages will not constitute official notification. You must speak with one of our representatives.

Our cancellation policy will be strictly enforced; therefore, it is highly recommended that you obtain travel insurance. You may use any travel insurance company or TraveLite (Travelex Insurance Services) at: 1-800-228-9792 or www.travelexinsurance.com.

Car shipment cancellation and refund policy information is also on the car transport contract that is sent with your booking confirmation. The car inspection and shipment contract contains other important provisions regarding the shipment of your car. Please read your contract carefully before signing.
