Enjoy Amish Country during this delightful trip that highlights how the Amish live. In addition, you will have other interesting experiences such as meeting an old-order Amish family, enjoying some Pennsylvania Dutch home-style cooking, experience the famous “Chalk Talk”, visit an expansive Amish quilting shop, join in on the Turkey Hill Experience, and last but not least…watch the larger-than-life production of “Jesus” at the Sight & Sound Theater.

Day 1 – Wednesday, April 4, 2018 Depart Southampton for Lancaster, PA with a rest stop en route.
Approximate arrival time to meet your entertaining tour guide who will lead you through the back roads of another part of Lancaster County…off the beaten path!
Enjoy lunch on your own at Kitchen Kettle in Intercourse, PA – a Village within a village, offering 32 shops of local flavor.
Next, venture towards Paradise to meet an old-order Amish family. Interact with the charming children, perhaps try some home-made potato chips and other local treats, and learn about raising adorable miniature horses. You will acquire knowledge about his Amish family and the connection to Major League Baseball!
Enjoy dining in Lancaster County’s original family-style dining room where you will have a bountiful feast of Pennsylvania Dutch home-style cooking. Start with local relishes, apple butter and breads baked fresh that day. Savor country meats, including Lancaster County baked ham, golden fried chicken, and their famous chicken pot pie with homemade noodles. Be sure to save room for the Farm’s fresh baked, mouth-watering desserts. In addition, during dinner, you will be entertained by a very unusual artist who tells her story as an Old Order Mennonite through a very engaging program of music and art using Chalk as a medium. Day 2 – Thursday, April 5, 2018 Enjoy a Full American Breakfast at the hotel this morning.
After breakfast get ready for a springtime journey over the rolling hills of Lancaster County on the way to an Amish homestead. Meet another Amish family, who will teach us the meaning behind so many of their colorful quilting designs, as we chat with the family about their customs and visit their expansive quilting shop, featuring over 200 handmade quilts, plus their signature “quillows”, pillows, pot holders, handbags, wall hangings and more!
Enjoy a box lunch en route to our next stop which will feature a “gift” from our friendly cows!
Immerse yourself in the world of ice cream and an entertaining Turkey Hill Experience as you learn about dairy culture, the story of Turkey Hill Dairy, and how the ice cream and iced tea flavors are created. We’ve even specially arranged for you to develop and taste a flavor that YOU create right in the Taste Lab! Indulge in as many samples as you wish to bring ice cream tasting to a new level.
Afterwards, our tour continues back to Strasburg, PA and the Sight and Sound Theatre.
Time to be seated as the Bible comes to life this afternoon at the Sight & Sound Theater. “Jesus” is the musical stage adventure about the most famous person to ever walk the earth, and the everyday people whose lives he changed forever.” Dozens of professional actors attired in elaborate costumes, and meticulously detailed sets will complete your experience.
Show time! Be enthralled as you watch this epic production of Jesus, a musical like none you will find anywhere else.
