Tour Charleston's beautiful old historic district with a stroll to the Heyward-Washington House, c. 1772 which houses the finest collection of Charleston made furniture in the city. This house also has the only original kitchen building open to the public. Included in the tour will be St. Michael's church, the oldest church building in the city, with its magnificent steeple and bell tower. View the lovely homes along Charleston Battery, a beautiful scenic promenade and historic park where the Cooper and Ashley Rivers meet, 18th century Rainbow Row, named for 14 private homes which mirror the colors of the rainbow, this section was Charleston's waterfront district during the 18th century, magnificent public buildings and churches, and many other points of interest.
Next, travel to the Boone Hall Plantation where you will enjoy a special experience for lunch!
Private Table Seating underneath the Pavilion located On Boone Hall’s Beautiful Back Lawn, a delicious southern style farm to table luncheon prepared exclusively for you, and a private performance during lunch featuring the rich history of The Gullah Culture.
Journey across the Cooper River to the town of Mt. Pleasant. This historic location was used in the filming of the television mini-series, “North and South” and “Queen” and also for background filming in “Gone With the Wind”. Tour the lovely Colonial Revival plantation house with docents in authentic antebellum costumes and watch the basket ladies making their sweetgrass baskets. You will also attend a program about Gullah life on the plantation. Take a tour of the Boone Hall Plantation.
Return to the hotel where your evening will be free to have dinner on your own.
