TATTOO1 TATTOO2 This is an awesome trip for all. We hope you will join us on this exhilarating adventure.

You will be thrilled as you experience the International Tattoo. It is the largest spectacle of music and might in the United States of America, and offers an astonishing display of inspirational military music, majestic, massive pipes and drums, show stopping drill team maneuvers, colorful and elegant dancers, and much more!

What is the Virginia International Tattoo? It is an annual non-stop, high energy, two-hour extravaganza of music, ceremony and entertainment presented in the grand tradition of the Edinburgh Military Tattoo and the Nova Scotia International Tattoo.

Some interesting facts: The term "tattoo" derives from the cries of the 17th and 18th century Dutch innkeepers, who, as the fifes and drums of the local regiment signaled a return to quarters would cry, "Doe den tap toe!" -"Turn off the taps!" The sound of the "taps" caused the innkeeper's customers to depart and return to their barracks. The word "tattoo" evolved over time, and refers to what developed as a ceremonial performance of military music by massed bands today.

Tour package includes: 2 nights hotel accommodations, taxes and baggage handling (1 pp), 2 full breakfasts including meal taxes and meal gratuities, and all admissions as stated in the itinerary including the Virginia Tattoo tickets, and deluxe round-trip transportation. The Virginia International Tattoo begins!

The call of the trumpets, the beat of the drums, the wail of the pipes – the mighty sounds of the Virginia International Tattoo! It's clear why the American Bus Association has put this Tattoo on their must-see list of the most exciting events in the world. Throughout history, field musicians have been vital to commanders as the sole means of relaying orders during battle. For marching, the bands kept the company or regiment in proper cadence, and served to beat the daily duty calls and ceremonies such as Reveille, Taps, the General, the Assembly and the Retreat. The distinctive and colorful uniforms were necessary to distinguish them easily on the battlefields, and were often the reverse color of those worn by the line soldiers.

The 2018 performance will have an extraordinary cast of hundreds of performers from 8 nations including audience favorites such as Norway’s Band and Drill Team of His Majesty the King’s Guard, the brilliantly costumed dancers and drummers of the Republic of Korea Traditional Army Band, and new this year, Poland’s Republic Border Guard, with their iconic instruments and costumes reflecting centuries of tradition. And as the centerpiece of this spectacular celebration, a moving salute to Medal of Honor recipients, the highest award for valor in action which can be bestowed upon an individual serving in the Armed Services of the United States.

Some interesting information about tulips…Ottawa’s connection to tulips dates back to World War II, when the Dutch Royal Family took refuge in Ottawa—Princess Margriet was born here in 1943, her hospital room declared Dutch soil for the event! Canadian troops also played a pivotal role in liberating the Netherlands. At the end of the war, the Royal Family sent a thank-you gift of 100,000 tulips (and continues to send tulips every year, even to this day!). The Canadian Tulip Festival was established in 1953 as a way of celebrating this gift. The tulip is Ottawa’s official flower. The first Canadian Tulip Festival was led by the Ottawa Board of Trade, at the suggestion of world renowned photographer Malak Karsh. Karsh is considered the founder of the Festival and his photographs have immortalized the tulip.

Historic RCA Studio B played a major role in establishing Nashville's identity as a recording center. Dozens of country and pop stars made recordings here, primarily from 1957 to 1977, when the studio was operated by RCA Records. There are few recording studios that can claim the number of hit records that have come from Historic RCA Studio B, located in Nashville's famous Music Row area.”

In addition to the Farm Sheds, their Market House consists of 14 locally owned restaurants and shops offering cuisines that span the globe, from Neopolitan wood-fired pizzas to gyro sandwiches to Jamaican jerk chicken and Korean bibimbap.

"When you walk through the doors of the historic Ryman Auditorium, one thing becomes clear right away: This place is hallowed ground. This is the exact spot where bluegrass was born, where Johnny Cash met June Carter, where souls were saved and a slice of history was nearly lost. It was right here that country music found an audience beyond its own back porch, and countless careers took off as deals were signed on napkins and paper scraps backstage. This is a building where anything is possible: a soul can find redemption, a crumbling building can find salvation, and an unknown kid with a guitar can find their name in lights. "

Return to your hotel to relax

Dinner on your own at the Gaylord complex

Attend a show at the Grand Ole Opry House– adjacent to the Gaylord (Artists – To Be Determined). See the Grand Ole Opry, the show that made country music famous. The Opry features a dynamic line-up of new stars, superstars, and legends of country music. Unlike a typical concert, the Opry presents eight or more artists on each show, giving the audience a sample of each artist's musical style.

The Mansion boasts over 20 rooms, 13 bathrooms, 5 fireplaces, 2 kitchens, an indoor pool, and even an indoor shooting range. "
