TRAINBOTGARDEN NYBG celebrates 25 years of the Holiday Train Show® in 2016. With a recent expansion and all-new bridges and landmarks, this year's exhibition is their biggest and best yet!

Enchanting model trains zip through a display of 150 landmarks, each re-created with bark, leaves, and other natural materials—all under the twinkling glow of the Haupt Conservatory. Marvel at G-scale locomotives humming along among familiar sights such as the Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty, and Rockefeller Center.

This cherished tradition delights people of all ages. Marvel at the charming model trains and New York landmark replicas in the warm Conservatory. The New York landmarks are all created from plant materials such as bark, moss, twigs, berries and pine cones.

UNTERMEYER_PARK Wave Hill – Often called “one of the greatest living works of art,” is a spectacular public garden and cultural center overlooking the majestic Hudson River and Palisades in the Riverdale section of the Bronx. Its mission is to celebrate the artistry and legacy of its gardens and landscapes, to preserve its magnificent views, and to explore human connections to the natural world through programs in horticulture, education and the arts. With a Victorian conservatory, wide paths, grand trees and lush lawns, it might have been the setting for one of Gatsby’s midsummer revels. This historic manor was once home to Mark Twain and later to Teddy Roosevelt and Arturo Toscanini.

Untermeyer Gardens – On this guided tour you will be introduced to Samuel Untermyer, the man, the lawyer, the activist and his grand gardens including: The Walled Garden, The Vista and The Temple of Love. The Walled Garden is Persian style gardens and canals surrounded by Greek architecture adorned with intricate mosaic panels. Descending 135 steps from the Walled Garden, past the ruins of the Color Gardens, leading to Ancient Roman columns that frame views of the Hudson River. The Temple of Love is a romantic, naturalistic rock outcropping with cantilevered terraces, winding steps and water courses.
